Is it Easter? I wouldn’t know…

I thought it looked a bit quiet at work today…..  Why didn’t somebody tell me it was a Bank Holiday?!

Yes, dear readers…. It’s been another week or so since my last post, but as highlighted in my opening gambit, I’ve been really busy!  Why else would I be working on Good Friday…

It has been a very long time since I’ve been this busy at work, and actually cared at the same time!

Yeah, we all know the background, not got a job – still waiting – etc, etc.  Yes, it’s all still true but I’m not really caring at the moment, I’ve found something I thought I had lost forever…..

Job satisfaction.

Yeah, I said it!  When was the last time you heard that phrase??

I don’t get paid anywhere near as much as I should for doing this job, I don’t get any perks like a company car or company phone, yes I work long hours during the week and weekends too but I don’t care…. I’m enjoying it.

It’s a new challenge, a new topic, a new outlook.

No, I haven’t been drinking…

Anyway, I’m working today and tomorrow but then taking a few days off.  Hey, I have to have a break some time!

Have a good Easter people.  Eat lots and lots of chocolate until you feel very sick!

Back soon.

Photo-A-Day Challenge

Right, well you may have seen others doing this, I think it’s a great bit of fun to attempt.

All you have to do is to take one photo a day, could be of anything you like or you could set your own theme.  I’m not going to be setting my own theme as such, but alongside just a photo a day, I’m also going to be taking at least one photo of the kids a day.  Just to see how much they change in a year.

Good idea?  Will I last a whole year?  Who knows, but on this attempt I will be having the missus help me out.  Expect some random photos!!

On a side note, thank you to Lorraine K (on fb) for being my inspiration on doing this challenge properly.

A Little Help, Dear Readers…..

Just a quickie…

I am nearing the big 200 post mark and wondered whether I should do anything in particular to mark this momentous occasion?

Do you have any ideas as to what I should do?  Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I’m surprised I’ve lasted this long, infrequent as I am, and have managed to attract such a following.  I know a lot of people just come for my dry wit……………………. ahem, moving on.

I have contemplated giving up this blog in recent times, if only for the times I don’t post anything for long periods.  I don’t know, maybe I’ll reassess after the 200…..

What should I write about?  Should I just find a funny picture?

Aaaaahhh the decisions!!

Woohoo!! Top 100….

Well, you lovely people, I have made it to a full 100 followers!

I must be doing something minutely interesting, every now and again, for you people to follow me.  I am very appreciative and surprised in equal measure.

When I started this, many moons ago, I had hoped just for a few people to read the blog and the odd comment here and there.  Whilst its true I have not struck up many conversations with my readers (my fault, not on here long enough) I still value the knowledge that there are some people reading what I manage to write.

Thank you.  No really.  I don’t need awards or plaudits (although it would be nice) to keep writing my gibberish, I’m just so full of it.

You know what I mean.

If in the future when you read any of this rambling nonsense, you feel like leaving any feedback, I would be hugely greatful.  I never know if what I am doing is interesting, relevant, or even worth it, so any words of wisdom would be great.

You really are lovely people.  If only I could give you all a big……

Oh, Peppa, maybe I’ll have to like you….

It is amazing.

Somewhere in the world Peppa Pig has done something extraordinary.

Maybe she’s become Pope and I’ve not heard.  Maybe she’s pregnant.  Maybe she’s turned to crime.  Maybe she’s started using ‘recreational drugs’.

I don’t know, but she’s doing tremendous amounts for blog views.  I am happy to get ten or more views on any day.  But so far today alone, bearing in mind it’s half ten here, I’ve had over a hundred views and it all stems around this bloody pig.

What’s going on?

It would be nice if people were interested in things I actually have to say, and not merely to pinch the picture from Google, but hey, it inflates my ego for a little while.

But still, I can’t change my mind.  I still don’t like the pink little source of bacon.

Peppa Pig Opinion

Have I missed something?!

As you might have noticed, I don’t write as often as I should and even when I do, it’s not very intelligent.  But something weird has been happening.

The traffic to my humble little blog over the last week has extraordinarily increased.  Whilst I don’t understand or expect it to last, everybody seems to be looking at the same thing.

It’s not a recent post either.  Has Peppa Pig died or something, or has she become Pope?  A little post, maybe from last year, stating some reasons as to why I don’t like the pesky pig seems to be attracting some reaeders.

Whilst I fully understand that it is probably just people looking for pictures on Google, and not anybody seeking out my opinions, it just makes me wonder as to what she has done to suddenly warrant this kind of attention?

Is she in line for a role in the next Popedom?  Has she had the illegitimate love child of Postman Pat?  Is she going to be on the next series of Celebrity Big Brother?

I live in wonder.

What does he really carry in his sack?!

What does he really carry in his sack?!

On a different topic, I am still trying hard to write my book.  I have all the ideas in my head, ready to explode on to the page, but not the time in which to carry it out.

I work all day, get home and have something to eat, play with kids, put the kids to bed, and then by that time I’m too knackered to do anything but veg out in front of the TV and fall asleep.

Why do I find it difficult to plan my time?  There’s just too much other stuff that takes precedence over me sitting down and writing a silly story, I suppose.

Maybe it’s just not meant to be.  Perhaps it’s time to give up the fantasy of writing a book and focus on the real world.

I just need to grow up.

They’ll never get caught. They’re on a mission from God.

Blues Brothers (1980)

Yes, I know this film was made two years before I was born, but I am a sucker for the classics.  And this film sits high on the top, soaring above all others.

You can probably tell that this is my favourite film of all time.  No exception.

The incredible casting is out of this world and showcases the awesome talents of John belushi and Dan Aykroyd.

Ok, some of you may not have seen this film (shame on you!), here’s a quick overview:

After the release of Jake Blues from prison, he and brother Elwood go to visit “The Penguin”, the last of the nuns who raised them in a boarding school. They learn the Archdiocese will stop supporting the school and will sell the place to the Education Authority. The only way to keep the place open is if the $5000 tax on the property is paid within 11 days. The Blues Brothers want to help, and decide to put their blues band back together and raise the the money by staging a big gig. As they set off on their “mission from God” they seem to make more enemies along the way. Will they manage to come up with the money in time? (IMDb)

Now if that doesn’t get you out of chair and make your way to the video shop (old school!), nothing will!

Full of great musical numbers, comedy performances and dance routines, this ticks every box for a true comedy fan.

Why not read my Essential List on films.

It’s just a figure of speech…

Hey there people.

Just a quickie, I have put up another page with some funny sayings on.  It’s just a bit of fun and they made me chuckle, so thought I would share them.  I’ll put more up as and when I come across them.

Feel free to suggest some and I’ll add them on if they make me laugh.

Check it out!  Ta.
